I have always loved to garden BUT here in Kansas we get the worst of all worlds In summer the Texas breeze can dry your garden out in an afternoon.annd in the winter the breeze from the dakotas  will take your breath away.one day I was talking to a friend as lettuce prices was going threw the roof and I said "wow another cash crop to grow in your Basment"at that point an idea was born .My Wife  and mother have always thought I was a little off ;" strange seeds"  started to grow along came the summer breeze and soon to be crispy or a new favorite lunch of grasshoppers . first the planting mediun knowing that hydroponics is the way of the future I started reading and head scratching  the end result was coir/perlite/vermiculite mix to make the coir usable I use fertilizer water from the hydroponic store.for the trace elements Worms in the basement ,eating and pooping away.NOW LIGHT wow if you thought making a decision about mediun is hard start reading about Lux,lumens,kelvin ,foot candles, and lest us not forget micro-einsteins.well that is were i am today  awaiting some flourex lights  to complement my 4' bulbs .
