I was told at the nursery that it's a low light shrub. I put it in a corner where it won't ever receive any direct sun, but it is still fairly bright there. Anyone ever grow a Daphne in bright light? They are beautiful plants when they bloom with sweet sweet flowers in early Spring.
Cheers,
Pat
Yeah Daphne is a versatile plant. I have seen it in full sun on east exposure walls in Seattle. It's kind of fleshy so it doesn't dry out easily. The great thing about it is that it tolerates a range of light levels and always seems to bloom in the early Spring.

Daphne will grow just about anywhere.

I have had people tell me that Daphne was a "finicky" plant. So I expected it not to do well.
I planted it in a dry, protected somewhat shady spot by the porch.
It is a no-care, fuss-free plant. I've never had an problems with it whatsoever.

Yeah ours did very well this year. I planted it in a corner of the fence that receives no direct sun, EVER. It sits in the cold and damp all winter and bloomed right on time this spring. I really recommend any Daphne and odora is sweet.
