    Butterfly bush - Buddleia davidii

This has got to be one of my favorites. It puts on massive amounts of flowers and look like a lillac bush. I have seen massive ones about 10 feet acrosss and high. And they attract bees and butterflies and hummingbirds until the first frost. Very nice shrub with little maintenance.

One thing to remember is that it likes to be hacked back at the end of the season so that new growth can put on flowers in the next growing season. Read about 'em here - http://hcs.osu.edu/pocketgardener/source/description/bu_vidii.html
