I have one little perennial bed in my yard and I'm constantly trying things. Maybe I don't give them enough time before moving on to something different. But I tend to plant showy perennials and forget about all the nice foliage plants that you need. Around here people just love hostas but I'm not a big fan. I need to find something else with finer leaves. But my fave flowers are: bulbs - every kind, lilies, daffodils, tulips, hollyhocks, forget-me-nots, clematis which of course isn't really a bedding plants, poppies and daisies.
