Note: Can anyone please help me identify. It looks a bit like a grass when it doesn’t flower but when it does you get these brilliantly colored flowers and it is a bulbus plant. I was thinking that it might be a kind of gladiola but I’m not rally sure. Thanks in advance -Clinton B

I'm pretty sure that's a Canna ~ a bulb that comes in several colors with similar growing conditions as an Elephant Ear and they look wonderful planted together. Annual in most places needing to be dug up in the fall and stored in a dry, cold area.

The flower looks like a canna but not the leaf. I'm thinking it might be a new color of gladiola. Also, knowing how tall the cane is might help. Cannas grow very tall for the most part (4-5 foot in my yard), gladiolas only get to about 3 foot or so when in bloom.

I was thinking a Gladiola as well. Maybe along the line of "Frank's Perfection"? I say this because of the shape of the flower. Now I'm going to confuse everyone because the flower does fit the description of a Canna and I found a Canna that does seem to fit the leaves and that is the "Endeavor" but it's flower does not match, only the leaves do.
