Note: I hope the picture is clear enough to see the details coz not much is available with me.I live in the Central India Asia. The plant does not have any exacting requirements.Tolerates the sun well and is moderately resistant to drought.

My first guess would be a kind of honeysuckle, ( lonicera )
Tho most are fragrant, some do not have a scent---if this one does not have a sweet smell to the flowers, one possibility is
lonicera sempervirens

I had thought a honeysuckle as well, but do you think the leaves are right?

hey, the leaves look like Campsis, (trumpet-vine)... but some cultivar maybe, the flowers are a bit different than Im used to seeing. Definitely not Lonicera though.

I did a search on rare, strange, desert, Indian, succulent and (I can't remember what else) trumpet, bell and tubular flowers and cacti and couldn't come up with anything. I agree with you about the leaves and that's why I didn't go with honeysuckle. What's funny is the leaves also reminded me (kind of) of a Christmas cactus my mom once had. That's why I did a cacti search. HMMMM Stumped.
