yes thats defferently a grape vine, it should have small grapes on it by now though

If it just came up, it is probably a wild grape. The fox grape, Vitis vulpina is the most common here in KY but there are many species. They can take over a large tree and smother it, so be careful. If you have a wild section of yard you might leave it as food for wildlife.

We have these like crazy along our fence, but never any grapes. Are the leaves edible, such as for making dolmas?

If it's under 3-5 yrs old it may not produce grapes YET.
