Hi! I think you have a "false sunflower" here. It's a beautiful perennial that loves sun and blooms continuously thru the end of summer. Good Luck!

This is a crossed marigold, they cross and reseed very easily, and will often come back in odd variaties after you or a neighbor plants some and they cross in various ways. You may have had brown and gold ones, but the next year or even two years later, some odd cross will appear.

Cosmos. Might go by other names, does reseed itself easily and easy to grow. Makes great cut flowers and if deadheaded will continue blooming
