Note: Hi. This has lovely glossy leaves, young leaves are lance shaped, stems are hollow and flower petals are fused. There is no scent. At the moment it about 5' tall.

its a kangaroo apple. a solanaceae... can't remember offhand the genus or species... they get huge... plus you can use the green fruit as an abortifacient if you have any babies need killin'

wierd where'd my comment go? anyway, Solanum laciniatum, aka kangaroo apple... the ripe fruit is edible though not what i'd call great... the green fruit can be used as an abortifacient if you have any babies need killin'

LOL I thought those kind of things nly happened to me! I didn't really think it was an hibiscus but I figured, what the heck, get the ball rolling. Good on ya 13013!

Thanks for the id. Have to get all the info on it now. I thought it was a member of the Solanaceae family.
