Note: Can anyone identify this leafy green plant? I didn't plant it and I don't know where it came from. I don't want to pull it up because it actually does look like it could be something. Hopefully, we'll get some flowers..soon and be able to tell. Any guesses?

yellow coreopsis or tickseed of some kind maybe.......do you have any in your garden? seeds could have landed there...

my first guess too...coreopsis or some member of asteraceae family

The leaves bear a strong resemblance to coreopsis major.

I believe this plant is Stokes aster which has a purple bloom in late July in my NE garden

O.K. Now just stop that! The leaves are similar to both and now I'm second guessing myself. LOL I want to see it when it blooms or this is going to drive me crazy!

Okay gardeners, I've taken new photos but don't know that its going to help at all. Yes, I do have a yellow coreopsis but that is in the front yard, this one is in the back AND the leaves are not simular at all. Today, still no signs of any flowers yet. I'll keep you all posted!
