looks like a scented geranium. Does it smell when you rub the leaves?

Look at the flower buds, not geranium, maybe a Mallow. What is the growth habit.

Geranium buds hang down til they flower, these buds are upright.

Sorry if it upsets you but I have grown geranium from seed for 20 years, these buds do not resemble geranium buds at all. The wonderful thing about waysides website is it lets you zoom in on the picture. You can see for yourselves the geranium buds.

Than go to http://ct-botanical-socieyu.org/galleries/malvamosc.html and you will see this plant.

I am sorry I thought these threads were about helping identify plants. I will leave this site.

ps... don't leave the site, without disagreement, there is much risk for misidentification... this site needs more healthy argument for, well, for the sake of argument... plus, i agree with you, but as i said in my last post, i'm really pretty unfamiliar with either.

no one is upset.......why would you think that? there are no disagreements of such......only different opinions.....don't be a silly goose.......no one is offended by different opinions...and thru it all someone usually comes up with right id......if you say it is Mallow.....then it probably is.......lord knows I'm no expert ......I was just going by the picture.........honestly never meant to be offensive....if it was taken as such.......then I humbly apologize!!!!!!! :)

after closely looking at both buds......I will vote with Lisa....it looks like musk mallow!!!!!! :) They do both look a lot alike tho.....is mallow a relative of the geranium?
