  • Re: Propagation of Datura and Brugmansia

Great plants and photos. The good news is that my wife and I are moving back to Austin this summer so I will have enough heat to grow a bunch of them. I recently clipped my SuperNova back to branches to get rid if the bugs and then threw it out in the garden. It seems to be making a comeback. Which brugmansia do you think have the sweetest scent? ...

  • So quiet here at IHG, so more photos

Feels like a ghost town here at IHG. People are busy I'm sure and gardening for us in the northern hemisphere is winding down. I do notice that many people from the southern hemisphere find the site every now and then. So hello to you guys and happy Spring! Well my focus during the cool months (rarely really cold here in Seattle) is my ...

  • Brugmansia started in soilless mix

This is a brugmansia (Super Nova) that I started about 6 weeks ago but it took root within about 3 weeks. I started it in seed starter mix and then transferred to potting soil as shown. Now it grows like a weed!

This is a brugmansia (Super Nova) that I started about 6 weeks ago. IT takes quite a while for these to send out roots in water

I read that both methods were an option so I tried them. After a couple weeks the cutting in water was doing nothing so I waited. Then after about 4 weeks I noticed that the ...

  • A brugmansia cutting

I took this 'Super Nova' brugmansia cutting in hopes of making another great bloomer. I'll be documenting this to create a better brugmansia section and show how to take cuttings. We'll just see if the little guy puts out roots as promised.
